The Air Blade is a weapon under the classification of one-handed sword. It can be bought pre-split and it is the second strongest sword you can get while you're still a knight, the only stronger being the Aqua Blade.
If you choose to fight any dwarves while in Earth Valley during your first visit, this would be the sword to use, since dwarves are weak to the air element.
